This was even better than volume one, or maybe I should say that the story is getting even more interesting. Unlike volume one, this was mostly a single arc (though volume one was of course bookended by an over-reaching arc). So good!

I wasn’t sure what to expect but this was so much fun! The literary references went all the way through, and this reminded me of some classic mysteries as well (Summer of the Ubume). Looking forward to further volumes.

This ended up being pretty different from what I was expecting, but in a good way. The blurb makes it sound very romcom contemporary danmei, and maybe I just haven’t read enough danmei, because it felt more slice of life and less “tropey”—but again, that might just be my previous reading being too narrow.
