I've had this since it came out but finally started listening! I wasn't expecting to start out [where the book starts] but nice!

Mostly (queer) fiction these days.
I read more when I was younger and most of the books here are still imports from several years ago (and many of those, especially the to-read shelf, were very random; the to-read shelf can basically be disregarded altogether). Younger-ish reads are still archived as handwritten lists in notebooks on my shelf.

Okay, I really haven't made it much farther right now since, in typical rom-com style, the second-hand embarassment (even though mild by most standards, I think!) is too much for me at the moment. Maybe in the future! I still have this marked open for now.

So I got about halfway through and I'm still enjoying it, but the length has me a little on tenterhooks since I don't know what to expect about what will happen to the characters. This is part of the reason why I've set it aside for now, but do still plan to pick it up again.

This was recced in several different places including an online convention in the same space as The Goblin Emperor (about “kind” people) so I’m hopeful! I have it on hardcover as well, but I’m listing the ebook here since I’m listening to it via TTS.

Admittedly I am having trouble with this one, and I’m not sure why. Maybe I’d have done better with reading it rather than listening? It’s not that the story isn’t engaging, because it is! Maybe I just need more spoilers (I find that conventional book blurbs are often worse than useless for me). Well, we’ll see. I finally caved though, and started re-listening to one of my favourite stories via TTS (for the third? time now) while doing chores, rather than this, so…

I read chapters 1-3 via ebook sometime last year, but I’m picking it back up as an audiobook so we’ll see how that goes. (I’m trying to find audiobooks to listen to, but I realize that I’m very picky.)
